Overview :

Camping World is currently hiring a Senior Accountant in our Lincolnshire, IL corporate headquarters who will report to the Senior Accounting Manager-Technology Initiatives. This is a newly created role that will focus on building out accounting processes for a recently acquired business. The person in this role will be setting up the foundation and managing the accounting for this business as well as assisting with the accounting of other high growth initiatives. This person will also be assisting in providing feedback and developing processes that assist in the operations of the business. This person will be reporting to someone who has 6.5 years of experience working in Big Four public accounting.

Responsibilities:

  • Month end close for the business

  • Financial statement analysis and providing observations of performance of the business

  • Preparing monthly financial statements

  • Reconciling daily transactions between a third party payment processor and manufacturer and warranty companies, ensuring that payments are properly applied, files are properly closed

  • Reconciliation of manufacturer statements

  • Running weekly commission statements for employees

  • Ensure refunds to customers receive proper approval and are processed promptly

  • Assist in managing the operations software to ensure customers are being invoiced timely and appropriately.

  • Collaborate with the Operations Manager and Senior Accounting Manager-Technology to develop processes and controls in order to ensure clean accounting of the business

Education, Experience & Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field required

  • 3+ years of experience required

  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast paced environment

  • Ability to use problem solving skills and be a "go-getter"

  • Detail oriented with a positive attitude and team spirit

  • Experience with Quickbooks is a plus but not required

  • Public accounting experience is a plus but not required

  • CPA is a plus
